Business Card

I had quite a few cards made up by Vista Print on the web at a good price and seems like they have traveled all over the state of SC. I get calls every other day wanting me to hunt coyotes on peoples property. I always get their phone number and ask if I can recomend someone in their area which is usually ok with them. I then do that with a member of my SC site and have done that quite a few times. The cards really work and especially by putting them out at feed stores, farm supplys and gun shops. Card looks good to me.

Chupa, the way I see it. Having a pic of dead coyote on your card that you've killed. Is a good idea because any potential customers/land owner. That want coyotes killed. Would know right away you kill coyotes.

It isn't like some big mystery when a hunter asks to hunt someone's land. That the land owner doesn't think for one minute. That hunter doesn't plan to kill what their after.

Anyone/[land owner] who may be "sensitive" to seeing a pic of a dead animal on a business card. I doubt they would let anyone hunt their land anyway. Because they are "sensitive"

I disagree. I know some "sensitive" folks that are land owners.
They can't pull the trigger even on a predator. They want them
gone but they can't do it themselves. They also wouldn't want
to see the dead animal or a picture of dead animals.
Nothing wrong with that at all.
If I had my choice between a sensitive neighbor/friend or someone
who wants to kill everything in sight, I'll take the sensitive.

I agree with RJM - pics of dead coyotes belong on sites like this one (for those fortunate enough to actually kill one - LOL).

I think the card looks good as is Chupa. The white lettering is big font and probably easy on the eyes without the camera flash.

I hope PETA don't get a hold of one - your phone will be ringing off the hook.

That would be the other side of the issue with dead yote on the card, if PETA did get hold of one they'd harrass you to death. With a live yote there, you can simply say that you relocate them for the land owner, and that they need to go play on their PETA porn site and leave you alone.

SooOOOOoo, these "sensitive neighbors" of yours. Do they close their eyes when driving by a roadkill? Good grief.

Hunters kill that is a plain fact. If a hunter wants to lie "I relocate animals". To a landowner in order to gain permission. Then have at it. I'm up front with farmers & they are up front with me.

I tell farmers I hunt coyote. They are smart enough to know that means kill them. Some have asked me when I make a kill they want to see it. Other farmers don't care one way or the other. I don't recall a time any farmer or acrege owner up-chucked in their mouth. When I told them I killed one or shown them a dead coyote. They want them dead, that is why they allow coyote hunting.

Being PC, is bullarky IMB.

Kirby - just like the wind discussions with hurricane force opinions, it's a big world out there - not everyone has the same mentality as you and your neighbors.

Keep in mind that varmint hunters are a very small proportion of the hunting community, never mind the entire community at large.

Forty miles east of me the NY/NJ transplants forced Monroe County to hire full time roadkill picker-uppers - so their little Buffys and Jodies are not permanently tramatized..

But since Bambi likes to munch their expensive landscaping for winter forage, they lost a bit of their PC sensitivity, and the HOA's hire nighttime snipers to rid the pests whilst their innocent kids are safely tucked under security blankets.

It's a big crazy world out there besides what you are used to. btw - I fully reject the PC crapola just as you do - and our numbers are shrinking with each passing day.

Some landowners cannot or will not harm any animal, in their mind it is okay for someone else, but not them. These are the people you are after, a large group of landowners that will use your service. Most farmers and ranchers in my area, don't have that problem, but are willing to accept help with a predator problem. For them, the photo doesn't matter, but the former, you can lose a place just because of the choice of photo.

On mine, I have no photo, nada, just name and phone number with brief information of what I do. Cheap black print on white card stock.

Kirby, you must live in a very screwed up little world.

All sorts of people for various reasons don't hunt, won't hunt,
don't want to see pictures of dead anything. I know more then
a few. None of which have to do with PC.

Want examples ?

Got 3 very close buddies who will never pick up a gun, not even
to save their own lives. Period. I know why but I can't tell
you other then they came back from SE Asia years ago and put
down their guns.

Got a sheep farmer north of me. He's lost most of his sheep to
predators. 3 of us from PM have offered to come take care of
his problem. Nope. He'd rather go out of business. Not sure
why but that's ok, it's his business, his life and it's not
really anyones business to judge him for it.

My mom was born and raised on a farm back in the depression.
She hunted and killed more then most of us ever will. Before
she went blind was probably the best shot I've ever known. She
wouldn't kill or hurt any animal for the past 40 or so years.

Just came from a neighbors place. Good folks but they won't
kill a thing or let me hunt their land. Just the way they are
and nothing wrong with it. They don't judge me, why would I
judge them.

I don't hunt small game like rabbits or squirrels. So what.
I rarely will kill a coon. If needed, I'll live trap them and
take them out into the national forest.
I have a real problem putting down my own animals regardless of
what kind. Does that make me PC ? Nope. Am I sensitive, maybe
a little.

You need to see and understand people for what they are, not the
way you want or think they should be.

And yes, I take care of predator problems for some sensitive
neighbors and friends.
Yes, they know I'm killing not relocating.
Have some that won't allow the use of a gun on their property.
Not a problem with me, I can use a crossbow just fine.

Chupa, sorry for hijacking your thread this way.

Really, how many members on here have shown ANY landowner a business card with a DEAD coyote on it. Et have been turned down because the landowner was offended. I want to know.

I'm quite aware of other people's opinions. Most every farmer's land I have been given permission to HUNT & KILL on. They don't hunt. They are either not hunters or their to dang busy with farming, whatever.

Point of my rabble. Is showing a coyote on a hunter's business card. A dead coyote that is. As to whether it is "PC" or not to show that on a card. If & when shown to the "sensitive"

Maybe a smiling sheep riding on a smiling coyote's back [bare back mind you] would suit their fancy. So's not to offend?

What do you think these "sensitive" people think. When they grant you permission? to HUNT on their land. You plan to Run & frolic in the meadow hand & paw with a warm & fuzzy loving coyote?

Kirby, don't sweat it for a second bro. I've "Hijacked" my share of threads around here. But I don't consider this a Hijacking, I think you both made valid points, so niether you or RJM owe me any apologies. I appreciate both of your inputs on this.

Chupa

I think It needs one of these
16a69c80.gif
in the bottom left hand corner exactly 1/8" away from the bottom and 5/72 away from the left side, then it will be perfect IMHO
