Busted Bog Pod Death Grip

Broke a lower leg clamp and the one they sent me off their website was the wrong thing and cant find a phone number anywhere to talk to them. Anybody got suggestions on how to get replacement parts or talk to someone? Thanks

Same thing happened to me. They kept sending the wrong parts until they finally just replaced the whole thing. The whole process took a very long time too

I decided to order another one and keep the old one for spare parts and I actually took the clamp off the original and attached it to a good Carbon tripod I had laying around.

They are POS. Had a leg clamps fail twice break twice. Now they say they don’t make mine any longer and don’t have a replacement clamp . They offered me a lousy 10% discount on a new Bog POD which I definitely will NOT purchase.

Had to look hard to find that to complain about, lol. That’s a 5 year old thread.
Guess I get lucky with stuff, hadn’t had an issue with mine and it ain’t babied at all. In fact it stays in the back of the truck (camper shell) and is used most of the year. I set it for me or my son (marked with a sharpie) and leave it like that. I can’t even imagine how you’d break one other than maybe using it as a club.

Same here. I have three of them and have no issues at all. Hell, I started to buy another one the other day b/c PSA had them for $100.

I wouldn’t call them junk, or a POS, but they weren’t for me. I made the decision to try something different within a couple hunts.

I've been looking at them to. Walmart sells a shorter version that I liked but if there are lots of issues and they break I'm not sure I want to get one now.

There's nothing wrong with their tripods. I have three of the death grips and two of the adrenaline bi pods. I often wonder if these guys that complain about breaking the deathgrip tripods are buying knock off or confusing the smaller cheaper tripods that bog makes. I just don't see how they could break them so easy. The only complaint I have is that I wish they used better screws in the head. If you let them get wet a lot without oiling them, they will rust.

If you are looking to buy one. Keep an eye open for them when they are on sale. PSA just had them for like $100.

i wouldnt clamp a rifle in it, toss it over my shoulder and walk with it. but they work great for sitting along the edge of a field. nice and sturdy. like shooting from the bench.

I agree 100%. I have the aluminum and I wouldn't do that just because of the weight. Even with that said, I will sometimes tighten mine down really good and pick up the tripod and move it short distances. I have never had one break, wobble, flex, tip over, etc. That's with both AR's and bolt rifles with scopes and big a$$ sniper hog lights on them. I also use them for deer hunting in ground blinds. Most of the ground I hunt is very hard clay so I always keep the steel spikes out.

Yes, there are better tripods. For over $1,000 a piece they better be. I'm not trying to sale the BOG's, if you don't like them you don't like them. I have just never experienced anything like some of these people are saying and even with a very open mind, I just don't see some of the claims.

I use a Primos adjustable for hogs because I have them on camera and know I’m not waiting/calling, but the DeathGrip is used on every coyote hunt.
I put a Lil Crow Works ball head on mine and it made a huge difference for uneven terrain. I keep mine extended and ready to set if needed quickly.
The tripods themselves are extremely sturdy. I honestly can’t see how one of the more expensive ones could be any sturdier, but I would imagine they’re a lot lighter.
One day I may get one of the fancy tripods, but until then The DeathGrip handles all my needs. I’m wondering if maybe back in 2020 if they had issues?

i got a much better tripod for night time predator hunting. my rifles clamps into an arca-swiss mount, toss it over my shoulder and away i go :)
