Took my boy out this morning and we made a few stands with nothing to show at first so we stopped at a new property I have. We headed south to get away from the truck about 200 yards and around the corner of the bush thinking we were far enough away from the truck, with a light east wind in our face we set up overlooking a 50 acre pocket. Well 15 minutes in, my son says "dad, there's one behind us"
Sure enough it came out right behind my truck to the west of us and walked right into our scent, looked at us then ducked into the bush and gone. I never thought one would come out from right were we parked but I guess anything can happen. He's new to coyote hunting so he thought it was best to sit still figuring it would come searching for the sound when he should have swung the rifle on it. He'll learn
