I need your opinpions on their flip up scope
covers. I'm thinking about getting a set, but
before I do I'd like to know the good and bad
about them. Thanks

I had a set on my 7mm Rem Mag. I like them a bunch. The only downside is that you have an increased risk of a nasty cut above your nose from the recoil. Not that this ever happened to me... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I've got them for several scopes. I think they work great. There's never been a down side to them for me. They come highly recommended by me! Get you a set of them, I believe you'll like them!

I have been using them ever since they first came out. They are on all my scopes both hunting and working. First rate.

Depends on what scope you have....if it is a Burris fullfield, you may not be able to use one on the back end of the scope....you rotate the entire eyepiece for power adjustment.

Outside of that one issue, I think they are great covers.

Thanks for the tip TCMAN, and other members. I am
wanting to put them on a Burris Fullfield II. I'll
do some more checking before I purchase a set. An email
to them should hopefully clear things up for me.
Thanks

I have them on all my big-game rifles, and wouldn't want to be without them. But, I learned really quick they just get in the way on a varmint rig (read pdogs) where the shot volume is high and you are constantly readjusting the AO. In fact, repeated firing with the AO cover in the flipped up position will cause your AO setting to "creep" on you.
Of course, if your scope is "side-focus", such as the Leupold Long Range series, it's not a problem.

I have to agree with TC. I bought a set for my Burris FF II and could only use them on the rear of the scope if I left the magnification at one setting. I thought this would be OK and I would just use it in needed conditions. Unfortunatly when I removed the cover, it pulled the rubber cushion loose off of the scope. It is a shame, because I do like the covers.

I really like mine i have a couple of sets on a couple of different guns. Here in Ohio we can only deer hunt with a shotgun or pistol, this year it was kind of cool so i had gloves on. Out of know where i nice buck just appears and starts feeding around. I wait until his head is down and shoulder my gun and at the same time flipping up my covers. When i look thru the scope all i can see is black and i am moving my head around trying to get the right eye relief..long story short the buck makes me and takes off the same way he came, i look down at my gun and realize i didnt get the front cover popped and it was still covering the lens.....morale of the story yes they are great but rember to make sure both are open before you try to shoot at a nice buck!!!!

Truly a great invention, i,ve used them for years, and whenever i buy a new scope, i buy covers for it at the same time, plus i,ve a boxfull i,ve collected over the years. Butler creek are the best available, and positively encourage proper scope care.

I like them but I have had a problem of them falling off of a couple scopes, they were the right model and size. I had to get creative to keep them tight.(a chunk of wire)

I bought a set for the Marlin, they were nice. But once I was off the range and back into the field I took them off for the same reasons Linefinder mentioned.

get the clear front model.. can't remember what the name of them are,, got em on a few of my hunting scopes.
that way if you forget you can still see out the front, not too clearly, but enough..
