anybody have one? was thinking of getting one because of the kickstand on back, but not sure if the pockets will work well for predator hunting. would be great if it worked well, one vest for turkey and predators.
my partner had one a couple years back, liked the layout etc. started to come apart, he took it back. for over a hundred it should of held up better. he was really bummed. he is not the type to exchange for the same model, so he went back to the kind he had before. mossy oak i think? mine is bps bucklick creek. great for big guys.
just checked that bucklick creek one out, not bad. should have posted asking what everybody uses. like the idea of not having to find a tree or carry a chair.
it was a pocket or something like that, nothing structural, but he liked it alot when he got it. when it failed he was just super dissapointed. he is one of those " i wouldn't get another one of those so and so this and that things if they paid me!" type guys. i was jealous of it, they seem nice.
i like mine because of the adjustment, ican get to everything while seated. plus i hate to admit it but 2 years ago i was 250 now im closer to 300. ok im 300
CARTER LAKE-SHARK, how long have you had yours and how is it holding up?
With a broken back, some kind of back support is important and nesasary(sp) for me.
Thanks
it works ok, but i only use it in a pinch. at my size using the seat is kind of constricting. mostly we hunt out of blinds that we green up when we scout preseason. in your situation the tatr with the kickstand might be perfect. i love the bucklick because of the open sides with the adjustment straps. other types i cant get to my gear when seated, getting too fat. mostly leave seat up for extra padding for my back, i sit on turkey stool with a seat cusion on top. two cusions for the kids so they can get the gun over the top of blind and not have to break it down too much. the seat works as advertised on the bucklick.
to answer your question 3 seasons held up great. and when i use the seat it has to be under ALOT of stress. holds tight. think i got it for about 40 on sale, mine is in ap love it.
I also have the vest. Used it this season and loved it. As stated it took a few settings to get set up right but now I've got it perfect and hate hunting without it. It allowed me to make better setups because I can hide anywhere and not have to look for a tree or something to lean aginst. sitting in one spot kills my back and then I don't sit still. I have chairs but that is just one more thing to pack in. With the chair in the vest it carries my crap for me. nice big pack in the back and two big pocket hold a remote and a scorpon great. When I take the cs-24 I can put a sandwich, or gloves, or lots of other stuff in the "scorpion" pocket. All the pockets are great excpt the boxcall pocket and I stick stuff in it but it is kind of an akward pocket for anything other than a boxcall. Forgot to mention i did learn the hard way that once you sit down i like to take the vest off and just lean aginst it. Everything is still right there i'm just not in the shoulder straps. I learned this when a coyote came in not quite where I had expected him and when i tried to turn I was strapped to my chair the coyote must have thought it was funny! Now looking back I bet i did look pretty stupid tring to hop on my but 90 degrees as sneeky as you can preform that rediculus act all dressed in camo sitting in tall grass. The Coyote is still alive by the way.
would've been an enertaining video, will keep that in mind if i get one. i think i may see if i can contact cabelas and let them know of an interest for a predator tat'r vest
i just got one and its freakin nice. best hunting thing i have bought other than guns. i find the box call pouch holds ar mags real nice or even a box of shells
My first AR is on order from rock river should have it before fathers day. Now I can tell the wifey "I had to get a new gun so i can put the extra mags, I still need to buy for it, in the empty pocket on my hunting vest." Great idea bigoledodge
