Cage traps for bobcats!!!

Since you are in NE, you could contact Scroeder Fur Co out of Grand Island. They have a cat combo that is reasonably priced (a nesting set of 3 traps). They are good traps and depending on where you are at you could pick them up and save on shipping (that tends to be pretty expensive with cage traps)

Also, there is a cage trap builder mercer lawing. his website is www.cagingbobcats.com Also nice traps.

You can also check out kirk dekalb's traps at www.advancedtrap.com

Another cage maker is briarpatchcages.com

Another is comstockcustomcage.com

There is a cage maker in Colorado. He is on this forum. i believe his screen name is thinkinthebox. If you search youtube with his screen name, you can find videos of his traps. I believe they are 2 door walk through traps. You could try to contact him through this forum. Not sure of his prices, or if he sells them even or just makes for his own use.

Most of the above makers will probably tell you that width on the traps is not as important as height. Length tends to be about 36 inches for most makers (double doors are probably longer) Width of around 12 inches, or even a little less seems standard. Height of 17, 18 inches or so and up is probably good.

Like I said, if you research all the above traps, you will probably lean towards Shroeder Fur, since I think for your money you can get more traps. Not sure where you are in NE, but could be very convenient for you.

Forgot about the Duke question. I have never used them, but they may be just a little short in height. May be better to order from a custom cage maker.

I am just getting into trapping them with cage traps too. I have had some good success so far this season.

Shepher0610 on this forum gave me lots of good info too. You can ask him for tips.

Also tons of good info on trapperman.com

Good luck

Greg has some good cages and a couple other guys making cat cages are bob small out of ariz and mercer lawing out of barsto, ca. you can find both online.

If u need any help shot me a pm. Im not a master by any means. But have fell in love with cage trapping. No worries of critters stealing your catch. No worries of trap freezing, and list goes on.

I use Schroder traps out of Grand Island but in the past 3 seasons my parnter and i have caught 18 bobcats and to many coons to count with them and never had one broke or torn up by an animal. I would highly recommend them to anybody plus they are very nice people to deal with
