Caldwell Chairpod

Curious if anyone has used the Caldwell Chairpod?? Looking for something that I can use from Yotes to P-Dogs to mountain rock chucks. The Caldwell bench is great but it sucks to get and store in my Polaris RZR when going spot to spot. If anyone has used one I would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks

I haven't used one BUT I can see that it won't work on un-even ground and at 22#, way more than I would care to carry around for a day of coyote callin'

Great in theory, not so much in practicality. A stool and a good tripod like the Nightstalker from Night Goggles is much more practical.

I watched the video link and thought it was kind of funny when he said quick and easy set up and then watched 30 seconds (way more in real life as they were cutaways) of 10+ steps and things to remove, open, and put together. I can't imagine doing all that for a stand at night or on lots of coyote sets. Even after it was deployed, it looked like it wobbled a lot as he moved. It also does not look comfortable as it looks mostly metal and plastic. I'd look for a better chair and a tripod.

Wow, hadn't seen that one before. Do you have one? I thought I was sold on a Pig or Hog Saddle, but had been holding off since they're about $500 all in with Slik tripod and Sunwayfoto head. The nightstalker is a lot better price point. I like the carbon fiber and good weight rating too!

Nightstalker and stool are better. I also have a triclawmps on one of my tripods. It's handy for wooden stocks and doesn't weight as much as the pig/hog saddles. Best setup that I use is a picatinny/arco adapter on a nightstalker type tripod.

I had a chair and a "fancy set of stix", both lasted about 2 days of hunting.

Now have a camo stadium seat, and a set of stix I made out of 1"x1" oak trim, a 2.5" bolt, 3 lil washers and a ny-lock nut. And I made them just long enough to use as a walking stick when folded up.... shot em with a lil camo paint and then let em wear to natural.

It’s been mentioned here already, but it’s worth repeating. Swivel chairs on stands are next to useless on uneven ground. Add in an attached and fixed rifle rest and I feel like your rested shots would be limited. The weight of that first one alone would have me leaving it in the truck.

On shotgun stands or stands with limited low visibility, we take the small, lightweight folding chairs and a seat of shooting sticks. Back in the day I designed and built a swivel chair with attached rifle rest. It rolled in at 17 pounds and if the ground wasn’t level the balance was poor. After dragging it around for a few trips it now sits in the garage.

I have one .. All i can say positive is that it should work well in a deer blind if you live in country where that is a hunting method . Not stable enough for prairie dogs at range , and too cumbersome to pack around calling yotes .
ETA:
It does however make a dandy conversation piece setting in the middle of my shop floor where i use it to plink out the end bay with a .22
