Calif. night hunters question.

Hi, new here and I have been into CA night hunting for about 1-2 years. I too find the lighting regs extremely confusing. I understand that the regs state that you can spotlight from your car as long as the engine is off and in the appropriate areas. You cannot shoot from your car in any circumstances. The one thing I could not find was weather you could mount a light to your gun or not.

Any help out there in clearing this up in CA?

Welcome to PM! That's a big no can do on mounting a light to your rifle/shotgun. That tri-pod mount of yours should work just fine, though.
