After several unsuccessful stands since Sept. began in what would best be described as very marginal weather, I finally called one in close last night. The young female came from a long way off but finally cooperated and I shot her at about 35 yds. She appeared to be a second-year female and although the video doesn't show it, she was pretty cagey and hard to convince.

Nice!! Did you think of stopping her prior to the shot or since she was coming straight in just send it?

She worked around the field for over a half mile after a Serenade and I thought she was just going to pass me by completely until I hit a sound she wanted. Then she came in on a string. There wasn't any need to stop her as close as she was and straight on. Actually, I probably should have stopped her at about 75 yds., but decided to just let her come on. There was a big canal between us and I didn't think she would attempt to cross it. She wanted to get my wind but my truck was parked where she would have had to go by it to get downwind and she didn't want to get that close to it.
