Indeed they do, I got a ticket for it. I got it thrown out, but it still cost me to fight it. This was a long time ago too. Another friend of mine who doesn't hunt got a ticket for hitting a deer because he did not have a hunting license. He had to pay it, or did pay it. Of course 2 things have to happen: 1. The warden has to be there at the time, which he was, driving by while I was looking at the damage to my truck w/ the deer laying in front of it. 2. He has to be a [beeep] rookie, which he also was. Seasoned wardens don't usually do stupid things like that. As far as my friend goes, the warden claimed he was in posession of the deer w/o a license, as it was stuck up in the front windshield, of his truck, thus he had posession of it.
Believe it or not it happened. I hear stories like that from time to time, and have a few fishing ticket stories that are not believable also. My neighbor rancher is a retired Warden, at the time those tickets were legal according to law. Not moral, but legal. I discussed it at length w/ him. He is partially responsible for getting my ticket thrown out. I really doubt in today's time a ticket would be issued, but back then it was.
