Calling Lynx

Hi,when using a bird distress call do you want to call continous or stop for a few min. at a time and have you had better luck with different calls. Thanks

Call nonstop and keep it loud. The Lynx up here arn't shy about loud noises. The busier the sound, the more likely the Lynx will come in to check it out. Also, if you have a decoy or just a wing from a grouse and some fishing line tied to something, that will help. If you stop calling, chances are they'll just sit down and leave in a short while.

Snowcamoman, thanks for the input, just got my Bandit M-1 and Sidewinder combo.Made a couple stands yesterday with no luck.Do you think nonstop calling would keep yotes or wolves from coming in?Coues

Coues,
I think with the canines, you need to let up and quit calling. They can pinpoint where the sound is coming from, so just call for a few minutes and listen. Then after a few minutes, start up again with the calling. The Yotes up here seem pretty vocal and respond fairly quick.
