I usually use an elastic spandex mask by Ergodyne N-Ferno http://huntingfishingplus.com/best-camo-mask/. I wear it all the time, be it for hunting wild birds or pigeons, but only when it's quite warm. In cold weather, my talasulic balaclava is worn.

Just a word on the Buff type and if you wear glasses: these can deflect your breath up onto your glasses and you get them fogging up on a cold morning. At least that is my experience.
