I have a stainless barrel i want to make a sock for. I don't want to use tape so i'm looking for camo gauze material like head socks or face masks but long enough for a 22" barrel.

So far i've been to a lot of sites but not seen what i need, so do you have any place you have found for it? Thanks

Go to hunterspec.com and get their gun sock. I have them on two rifles and a shotgun and have been using them for years. You can "cut and paste" to your desired effect. Also, use the McNett camo tape or veterinarian gauze for some rifles with great results. No sticky residues.

I use the camo gun wrap on my rifles. It doesn't leave a sticky residue and you can use it over and over again. Plus their is a lot of different patterns you can chose from.

I use camo vet wrap, I get it from Tractor Supply. You can get 4 rolls for about $10 bucks. This stuff sort of has a tackyness to it so it sticks to itself. The rolls are about 4 inches wide and about 10 feet long. When it starts showing some wear I just change it out. Usually I can get a full season out of one wrap.

Here it is after a full season.

Does it melt and leave nasty on the can?
