camo gun wrap

what do you guys use to wrap your guns? i was about to buy some stuff at gander mountain, but the guy there told me i should avoid it. he said it will melt to my barrel and will leave a sticky residue when i decide to remove it later on.

I left some on all season last year and it had a little sticky residue left but it cleaned off with alcohol easy enough. Keep in mind this was just on the stainless barrel, the barrel is all I wrap. Forgot to mention mine is a bull barrel may explain why it didn't get hot enough to be a problem.

If that is the stuff that looks like camo Vet Wrap, I agree.
I have had in on a number of guns, and it works well, with
no mess, and can be re-used. It isn't cheap, but works well.
For snow camo, just go to the local farm supply store and buy a
couple of rolls of white Vet Wrap. Again works great, no
mess, and is less expensive.

Yes that is the same stuff,if you go to ebay there are all kinds of people selling it.
The digital army stuff is cheap,10 rolls for about 30.00

I use tail wrap from Tractor Supply Company. Not really reusable but cheap, it only sticks to itself, available in a lot of colors, including woodland and zebra.

Ive got a guy getting me some heat shrink tube so i can put it on my rr stainless barrel in black im going to lightly lube the barrel and use a hair dryer to shrink it i hope it works if it does i may try to see if they make it in camo.

Why would you put that on your barrel???

can you not put the mcnett stuff directly on a stainless barrel? the video on mcnetts website shows them putting it directly on the barrel of an O/U shotgun. i doubt my AR's barrel will get as hot as the barrel of a shotgun while hunting

I have the shinney stainless steel barrel and i use camo ducktape on it now i think the rubber would help to coverup the shine and protect it.

Ditto but I would love to find a slip on neoprene cover for both the SS barrel and to protect my forearm too!

I don't have experience with a stainless barrel, but my regular barrel on my competition gun that I doubled as a coyote gun, did in fact change the finish on my barrel. It didn't stick to it, but it left a "burned" appearance on the barrel. But overall, if you don't want to paint your gun, the wrap is the way to go.

Just picked up some of the Vet wrap stuff from Tractor Supply.

I found white and an off white with brown spots on it. I got 5 4" rolls for $10 enough to do 6-8 guns....
