camo whats your fav?

Deer hunting i have always wore blaze orange with the stick pattern in it, and duck hunting i have always just wore khaki carrhearts.

There was a guy who used to hunt with my dad, they were out on a group hunt, and someone else kept giving this guy crap about his hunting gear, and how his camo was no good yada yada yada. So after this guy has had enough of it he showed up one morning in a red felt jacket and blue bibs, went out alone and set up across the bay from the rest of the group. As the story goes he flipped his aluminum canoe over on shore and sat on the shiny silver hull. At the end of the day he had out shot any 3 of the rest of the group.

so i guess the moral of the story is (when it comes to deer and ducks) hold still, know how to set up, and know how to shoot.

yeah that. Also like the columbia wool winter pattern.

I just pick up camo when I catch it on sale or cheap. Dosen't really matter to me. Don't think the animal prefers Mossy Oak over RealTree either. Thats just me though.

Predator! I started using it this fall for bowhunting and I'm really impressed with it.

Lemme show you some pictures. In most of these, I'm looking for "bad" views- direct sunlight, on the edge of the tree, sparse vegetation, etc. :

Natural Gear:

Doesn't block my shape very much at all. I'm wearing it in my avatar picture and it can definitely do the job sometimes, but it doesn't really break my outline very well.

WWII camo:

I think it's doing an excellent job of breaking up my outline! This is just a sheet of WWII pattern that I'm wearing as a poncho.

Digital camo:

A Wall's jacket that I picked up for $30. It's doing a surprisingly good job of creating its own blobs.

Predator:

I'm in the full sunlight here and I think it's doing a great job of blob-ifying my shape.

Check me out in the shadow, though!

I have been using Predator while bowhunting this year and I like it. I had a coyote at 30 yards and was able to draw, let down, move my face mask, draw again, and then miss him at 45 yards. He didn't spook until I missed him, in spite of staring straight at me. I also made it to 22 yards of a bedded down, resting pronghorn buck, drew in his general direction, and then backed out again. He looked right at me twice and went back to sleep.

I use mossy oak brush and I use my Rancho Safari ghille suit as well. Works like a champ. Ive never tried kings but it looks sharp

If it's not a ghillie suite my top two patterns are mossy oak brush and the original nat gear. I just picked up some desert shadow and I also like prairie ghost. Any more I'm kind of a sale shopper.

I've heard from other people observing stalks that mis-matched top and bottoms works better than matching. Anyone else experience this? I got some kudos last year for wearing nat gear pants with a mossy oak brush jacket. I thought I was just too cheap to buy a jacket for every pattern but he said it was harder to see.

+1 This is what I use exclusively, because many different brands carry this pattern of camo.

Has anyone used the Multi-Cam pattern wiith any sccess or regrets? (no intent to highjack here... heard alot of good about this and wanted to see if that would help)

I haven't used Multicam in a hunting situation, but I have seen it in comparison with others in a training environment. The terrain was high desert/rolling hills. The guys in Multicam were the hardest to pick out, followed by the guys in the Army ACU. Everyone in military woodland BDU's might as well have been wearing black if they were viewed from 300-400 yards away. Seems that the woodland pattern is at its best as it gets pretty faded.

skunx123, you wanna blend-in in Utah and surrounding states, go with the Kings Shadow camo. Mountain, Desert, Field, Woodland or even Snow Shadow. Hands down, it's the best i've ever used and I've tried them all. Their quality and durability is second to none and you would be supporting a local business as well. Just my 2 cents.

This photo was taken in complete sunlight!
