CamoClad

After seeing this stuff I couldn`t resist and had to try it. I did my shotgun first and it turned out pretty good . If you have any experience working with vinyl it`s pretty easy to do if not it could be a little frustrateing but worth the effort and $20. So on the rifle I decided to use both CamoClad and paint . I painted the areas that I couldnt vinyl flat tan then put on the clad in Realtree APG . Ordered a Burris 3-9 Fullfield 2 in APG also , wish it would hurry up and get here . Oh, the rifle is a Ruger Stainless 77/22 in K Hornet .

I just had this done to mine, but I really like what you did, and I particularly like the price. Mine cost me. Good job /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grinning-smiley-003.gif

I got it done at hydro-dip in Meridian, Idaho. They can be contacted at www.hydro-dip.com. Nice guys. Price varies depending on how much of the gun you want done. Sorry Grndhog, not trying to hijack your thread.

Not a problem ,I`m not selfish . The AR does look great , appears to be money well spent, and in the long run I would say that finish is probably more durable too .

As for the wet camoclad , just went and checked , it isn`t any different wet or dry , you can get a good grip eighter way , the stuff isn`t slick it does have a light texture to it .

I would be curious to hear how that CamoClad holds up after a day at the range where the gun gets good and hot.

I'm wondering if that stuff melts and peels once the gun is real hot.....being that its vinyl.

I did a couple of my guns in camo clad. It sticks very well and seems to sill the gun from moisture good, but it don't come off like they advertise. It rips off in little pieces and leaves sticky residue all over the gun.

Grndhog, glad I clicked on the larger images, looks really good. Had my AR dipped since I wasn't much of a patient person but I may try what you did on the shotgun. How does it do over checkering? Maybe this time I will remember not to cover the ports.

Thanks . So far so good on the checkering , you can still slightly feel it thru the clad. I`ll be calling with the shot gun saturday night , so I`ll have a better idea of how it`s going to hold up then . Had the rifle out groundhoging a couple times and so far it`s holding up good.
