Camoed the jeep

I bought a jeep cherokee a few months back to dedicate as a hunting rig and save the wear and tear on the power stroke. Still need to put the lift on and change the engine. I decided to practice painting it camo before I attempt my rifle. I think it turnted out OK.

You may have trouble finding it when you turn back to the rig... Looks good!

Thats what I was thinking. Take that rig Antelope hunting and get out there a mile from it and you will not find it again. Better get a remote that sounds the horn /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif. Nice job!

WOW, how many hours have you got in that project? Looks good though!

I actually have more hours into figuring out a pattern than doing it. It only took about 6 hours taping and painting it. The grasses I saw in Walmart parking lot and the idea came to me.

That looks dang good. Did you paint the whole truck with cans of Krylon? If so, how many did it take? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif

I painted the entire thing tan and that took about 8 cans. I used 1 can of brown and 2 cans of green. I noticed that part of the tan had a little shine to it. When I looked I noticed I had krylon and rustoleum paint. It was the krylon that had a shine so I used the rustoleum on everything. Here is another pic. My 13 year old daughter drew me a coyote to put on it so I painted one on each side.

You may have just saved me a ton of money, from camo wrapping our hunting rigs.

Did you sand the original paint surface first, to get a better stick?

Tony

I did sand it. I believe I used a 180 grit on my electric sander. I wanted to help it stick as well as get rid of wear some was chipping of. I looked at the wrap and like it but didnt want to spend that much on this project. I still need to get rid of the beauty rings on the rims and paint them. I forgot about the brown along the bottom and the bumpers. I think that took about 4 cans of brown.
