Can a spitfire be used as a speaker?

So long story short, lost the remote to my spitfire, cost 75 for a new one and the whole unit was only 100. So since i like predator hunting i decided to use some of my bonus for a caller. I debated between the CS24c and the shockwave and seeing as how im in the vegas desert the additional calling volume of the cs24 will help me more.

If i get the CS24 can is it possible to hook up the old caller as an external speaker? if not whats a good external speaker to run with the caller?

You could do that, but I'd much prefer a SP60 speaker. That is the same speaker the CS-24C is built on, and it really makes a great setup with the Fusion, CS-24C, or Banshee models.
 
didnt notice they sold those. that will definitely have to happen down the line, maybe sell the remoteless for a few bucks and use that towards the horn.

Edit - does the second speaker use another battery pack or run off the main horn?


is there a bag or method to carry both in? unfortunately vegas is hunted hard and a mile or two hike is not uncommon.

The CS-24C has a stereo amplifier. When you plug into the external speaker port, you can play a stereo sound through the two speakers. If it is a mono sound, it will put equal volume to each speaker.

You can use a Fieldline bag like I do to carry both the CS-24C and the SP60 speaker. Walmart handles them for about $15.00 to 20.00. Has nice compartments to organize your little stuff too.
 
Yes it does. It is reasonable to say it will probably double the volume. If you are playing a sound at maximum volume through the CS-24C, it is plenty loud. Hook up the SP60 speaker, and you have that same volume going out of two SP60 speakers. Not to oversimplify, but if two voices are singing as loud as they can, two are louder than one.
 
If you are playing a sound at full volume with the CS-24C, it would register a certain number of decibels. Hook it up into a SP70 speaker with everything set at the same volume, it will be louder.
 
hammer0419, the SP60 is a TOA, but so is the SP70, but larger capacity. As I have said over and over, if you believe you can buy a speaker as good as the FoxPro SP60 for $36.00, go for it. I recommend dealing with a company like FoxPro who back up what they sell. I think the superior hardware that is correct for the FoxPro ecaller is worth the difference.
 
Al, there is absolutely no difference in your Foxpro speaker and my TOA. Except for the sticker. Foxpro makes the best callers no doubt. But let's ease up on the band wagon when it comes to slapping a sticker on a speaker. You buy one for $70 and I will buy two. Seriously
 
hammer, I don't mean to come across as arguing or as beating the band. You are saying there is no difference other than the sticker. What about the wiring and the plug? You might be correct, but I don't think so. If you are happy with your purchase, that is the main thing. I have recommended the FoxPro SP60 to at least ten people, and they all are fully satisfied, no issues. On the other hand, I have known several people who ordered a speaker from other sources, and they had problems. They didn't have anybody to go back to on their purchase. Generally, you get what you pay for.

That's what's giving me doubts on the Banshee remote being long range?? If I can get some dry weather Saturday I hope to test its distance. If it doesn't meet expectations it will go back. I am hoping for good range as I have no desire to buy a more expensive machine.

hammer, the TX915 will work well for you at any practical distance. The video Mike Dillon posted shows that. Several people have posted being pleased with the range and performance. Having the TX1000 work out to 200 yards doesn't mean I'd use it at that range, but it surely will work well at practical ranges like I use.
 
Thanks again al. I don't need 200 but the spitfire was about 50 yards tops and was annoying. Id like 100 gives the tote a chance to circle between me and the call.
 
Well I couldn't wait to test it just a bit. I sat it on my car And turned it on. I went down the street a good 150 yards. No clear line of sight at all! Through trees around road bends and behind another car. WORKED ABSOLUTELY PERFECT ON EVERY PRESS OF THE BUTTON!!!! Definitely impressed on initial tests. My ONLY wish was that they made the remote with an illuminated keypad.
