CANADIAN BLACK BEAR with a BOW!

Here is my Black Bear I took this past May in CANADA. He was 350lbs and had a skull that unofficially measuired 19 2/8 so He made POPE and YOUNG by over an inch and was almost BOON and CROCKET! I shot him at 21yrds with my 06 Bowtech Allegiance What a great hunt and an exciting hunt also. I wanted to try and call one in with a varmint call but the outfitter was affraid Id get eattin!!! For refrence I am 6'1" and 250 myself

Here is tha story........... After a BUDDY of mine talked me into going on the trip with him I got ready and the months before the trip TOOK FOREVER!! Finally the day arrived and after the flight and rental car and BATES motel (thats another story

) We arrived. We waited a day before we could hunt and I was the LAST GUY TO GET DROPPED OFF! I got into my stand and I was sitting there for 20 minutes 6ft up a tree and I saw a bear coming!! First bear I ever saw and I SWORE I WASNT SHOOTIN A BOO BOO so I was leary to shoot it! So I watched it for 10 minutes and was fixing to give in and shoot when it walked towards me and RIGHT UNDER MY STAND like by 2ft!! I was SCARED!! Anyway after calming down I sat for about 2hrs and was looking around when I looked up and WOW!! I didnt even think about shooting this bear!! Whats funny is I was CALM as could be! I watched him for 15minutes and then I decided to shoot! I drew back and took aim and when I released the MUZZY TIPPED BEAMAN it was almost like SLOW MOTION... I watched the arrow as it flew straight and stuck right in the bears lungs! HE JUMPED AND ROARED and turned and ran and I almost crapped on myself!!!! I called my guide who showed up and we went looking for him and it looked like someone had a 5gallon bucket of blood making a blood trail cause it was THICK and evrywhere! We foud him and it was amazing to sit and see him laying there and it was crazy how big he was!! The guide was happy and said it was a huge bear and I got to camp everyone was happy! My buddy has been going for 5 years and it was the largest one he's seen taken while he's been there but they did take a 600lb and 2 over 400 this year too!
 
nice bear. i've taken about 28 bear with an arrow and have never had one make it over 50 yards. nice picture also.
 
That is a great looking bear and a cool story to boot! Congrats on your bow kill bro!

I can't wait to see some pics of the mount when it is finished.
