I'm gonna do it. I swear, I'm going to make some coyote jerky and bring it to the PM hunt.

Akin to having some "hair of the dog that bit you",only a more primal version.

Who wants some and who has some kick-a$$ jerky recipes to try on it?

Cook over hickory chips till dry.
Let dry but keep hickory chips smoldering.
Throw the meat in the garbage, eat the flaming coals, burn tastebuds off so you never get a wild hair like that again lol!!!!! coyote would be aweful to eat I cant imagine such a thing.

Mike,

Coyote jerky sounds good to me! I can't figure out why no one wanted my "coyote chilli" recipe either...he he

Now knowing Mike for a while and the pranks he likes to pull.....

I feel I had better worn you ALL that if mikes offers you a sanck or anything like that up at the hunt....

You have been forwarned.....

He will do it and package it as jerky....heheheeee

I prefer my apple pies Mike.....

Frys Marketplace here in Scottsdale has the chunks-o-chips bags for smoking. They have Apple, Cherry (my favorite), Hickory, and Mesquite.

Let me know if I need to get some for you. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

When I saw this topic I couldn't help but remebering a fellar that works for my dad. On a bet he ate a slice of coyote backstrap. I don't think he will do that again.

...and we're all swattin mosquito's trying to avoid the West Nile virus? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif helloooo

Coyote12, welcome to the board. I pity your dad's co-worker /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Does it really taste bad, or is there just a mental problem here?

I pay about $30-$50 per pound to eat snails. Many think snails repulsive but the market determines the price. Apparently, there is a lot of demand.

The guy that I know that ate coyote backstrap probably didn't taste it much. They fried it up until it was charcoal I think. I also think he won quite a bit of money on the deal.

Well for all of you that want to try it, I will have samples at the hunt. I hope the Country Kitchen owner doesn't take offense at me cutting into his biz.

Wonder if I should have it on a platter with toothpicks like the sample ladies at the grocery store?
