Cannon Safe?

Warning about Cannon gunsafes: They may or may not keep thieves and fires at bay, but you the owner should at least be able to get your guns out.

My new B-mag remained locked in a Cannon Safari gunsafe, over my vastly downgraded vacation by a big 'ole 35 gun Cannon Safari safe FAIL. Arrived March 13 at my cabin in AL. Had shipped $145 UPS of rifle and coyote hunting accessories. It was to be my 1st bonified coyote hunt, along with .17WSM set up, target and field test report. Quiet a bit of detail preparation took place proir to 3/13. I spent several evenings staring at my gear and almost laughing and crying.

Also missed my Appleseed project and IDPA monthly match as my Glock was locked up as well. I wouldn't trust Cannon gunsafes any further than I could throw 'em. 3/15 to 3/27 and the locksmith in Chattanooga is still waiting for some part to arrive.

I have a Cannon Scout and never had a problem till the battery (I'm assuming) was getting weak so replaced it and still had issues getting in my safe but hasn't given me a problem for a while... kinda strange. I do like it though, just wish it was bigger lol

That is the exact reason I had a locksmith set my safe up with a dial.

My Cannon Safari failed to open one day. I called cannon and was trying to get in my safe while on the phone with them. My electronic lock made a long beep. The tech at Cannon said "Is that beep from your lock? When I said yes he said I know what's wrong with it. Your lock has failed we have had a problem with Sargent & Greenleaf electronic locks. He said they tried get them to do a recall but they refused to. Cannon sent me a new lock of another brand but I had to pay for a locksmith. I can tell you this. You ain't going to get in a safe like mine with out knowing where to drill and having good bits and be willing to work. It took us 2 hrs 8 carbide bits and had to use a big magnet base drill with a 2 inch nylon binding strap wrapped around the safe to get enough pressure on the bits to cut. If you miss the spot by any more than a quarter inch you miss the delocking latch and you won't get in. The smith only charged me $150 because I helped. Found out my brother and law had the same lock on his safe but cannon refused to replace his because it hadn't failed "yet"
