Can't use an AR here in Canada for huntin, thinking about
getting a B.A.R. in .243. Don't know what to get shortrac,
longtrac, or backtrac /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif. are they accurate enough for
200yrd coyotes? with factory loads. Do they freezeup? We hunt with hounds, fast running shots in and out of the truck alot (warm-cold). Any insight would help. Thanks

couldn't tell you about a BAR, but you could use either a customized mini-14 (kinda expensive, but worth it if you want an auto in non-AR country, or a remingtom 7615) its a pump but its your next fastest option to a semi.
My rem 7615, chambered in 5.56 shoots moa with cheap reman ammo, takes an AR standard 20 round mag and is a joy to carry.

othere potions are available in canada
armilight AR 180
robson armerment XCR
swiss arms PE90
IMI tavor comming soon should be the
HK SL8's can be had in canada the lator three all being based off military service weapons and all non restricted with all that tacticoolness of an ar15
Fn2000 arw nonrestricted how ever are banned from us import

also about the remiton pump action it's a no go for the 20 rnders as the nato stanag mags used in the ar15 and 3 of the afformentioned fire arms can only have 5 rnds in ones stamped rifle and there is one importer importing ar 15 pistol mags which are allowed to have 10 rounds and can still be legaly used in an ar 15 rifle

Head over to candiangunnutz for all the candian gun info you could dream of every thing from black power to information on the latest hi tech inport to the great white north the nonrestricted isreali Tavor T.A.R. 21 bullpup rifle

The Armalite AR-180B (5.56mm) is about your best option in a semi-auto, I would say. You're looking at about $1,100 for one of those. The others that have been mentioned are considerably more expensive.

There's a FAQ sticky in the "Black and Green Rifles" section of CanadianGunNutz which should tell you just about everything you want to know about the AR-180B.

And, while I'm at it, might I say: Canuckistani guns law suck. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Why do they allow an AR 180 and a P90 but not the AR 15? other than theb usual anti gun ultra lib BS. I like Canada or did last time I was up there but that was over thirty years ago, I really doubt I will ever go back now.

The entire AR-15 family and all of its variants fall into the class of "restricted" firearms. You can own one, but its subject to all sorts of regulations and restrictions, and you can't ever use it for hunting.

There's really no rhyme nor reason as to why the AR-15 was targeted and not other semi-auto rifles of similar "look" or function. They (the Liberals, how did you know ? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif ) came up with a list of "evil" rifles and that's that. I've given up trying to decipher it myself.

the pe90 and p90 providing barrel length bs are not restricted or prohib by name the m16 is resticted by name

saldy three wonderfull fire arms the FN fal the HK g3 and ak47 based actions actions other then two valmet models are prohibitied cause a woman was made priminister no bull

the these had never been used in a crime but where banned cause they look scary nothing else

was imported as far as i can tell after the it looks scary lets ban/ restrict it phase we're now in the how does it work phase of fire arms law next comes should this reall be banned hopefull some things will be made legal and or non restricted the tavor is the same it's not old enough to suffer those horrors

any one who is confused about canadas bull pup laws if the action and stock are two parts prohib if the action and stock are 1 and th same then it depends on if it is prohib by name or restricted buy size
