I'm wanting to get into bowfishing this year. don't suppose there's anybody in the area who already does it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused1.gif I don't mind learning on my own, but it would be more interesting having somebody to laugh at me.

for practicing, save your milk jugs. Paint them florescent orange or chartreuse and fill almost full with water, just enough so they don't sink, but aren't on top of the water either. Tie fishing line to handle, open bail of rod/reel and toss out. With the majority of the jug underwater, you get a better idea where to aim. (LOW) When done, reel them back in and use another new one. Repeat. Then shoot carp.

Try to get within 15 feet, then hold 1 foot low. Correct as necessary.

Use an arrow with a wire/swivel setup, and use a good fish point with a removeable barb.

Have fun!
