If this question has came up before sorry i couldn't find anything. I was just wondering if it is legal to carry a handgun while archery hunting?

az game and fish rules say: an individual participating in an archery only hunt can use and POSSESS only a bow and arrow....
if your on a HAM (handgun, archery, muzzleloader) hunt you could carry all three. but i don't think there is a HAM deer season.
hope this helps.

Its funny here in VA because the concealed carry law overlaps the archery only regulation, so it is legal to carry, but god help you if you shoot something with the weapon. I think they would throw every possible charge at you.

MT you can and everyone does, WY you can't.

In Ohio if you have a Ohio CCW license you can carry while hunting. A few years back a nut case killed a few bowhunters while in there tree stands. I believe it happened in Summit County.

Theres just to many nut jobs out there nowadays.

It is legal to carry a handgun durring archery season as long as it is not a gun that woud be used for hunting. Barrel less than six inches example a snubnose revolver. However some state agencies do not recognize G&F rules. My wife is a G&f empolyee so I got it from the source directly. I will see if I can find the actual rule.
