Carver Calls Question

I just purchased one of Kerry’s howlers and look forward to getting my hands on it. I have this question in to Kerry via email, but I’m curious to know if anyone here can answer. It’s actually a question asked to me from another PM member that I couldn’t answer.

What is the difference in Kerry’s Closed Reed Distress Call vs the Closed Reed Distress Swift Call?

I think the Swift call has a rifle cartridge inserted into it that holds the reed ? Neat call.

I have both. The swift cartridge is the main difference I notice. They produce different sounds.

I just heard back from Kerry. Here’s his reply to my question…

“The closed reed I can voice in Jack cottontail or coaxer.. The swift call actually has a 220 swift brass in the wood. It is a very small sound and it is a distress more cottontail and not loud. It Is a very effective call.. I hope that helps. Many thanks, Kerry”

Swift calls are awesome. First coyote I ever called and killed was using a combo of a Carver swift and Dan Thompson PC5.
