Okay, I didn’t fully understand this little call when I first received it from Kerry. With the super light reed and very short tone board I wasn’t exactly sure what I was trying to get out of it. A quick email to Kerry and his prompt reply on its intended design and how to run it, it became obvious that I’m an idiot! 🤣

It’s an awesome little call that is incredibly easy to run. I’ve given it a fare amount of “windshield time” driving to and from work and I can see this little guy becoming a favorite.

Agreed!!! 😁 And it sounds better than it looks…..no offense Kerry.
LOL ..
Im glad you guys are liking the Runted.. Its a pretty neat call, I don't believe there is anything out there quite like it.. It has .003 mylar Im going to do a little experimenting with .002 mylar.. ill let y'all know how that goes.. With my old eyes and that thin of mylar I can hardly see the reed to voice them up LOL..

I was curious about the reed thickness myself, Kerry. Just as an FYI, I checked it at work with my calipers and I’m getting .004” thick. Actually checked it with 2 sets of calipers and they’re calibrated constantly for ISO compliance so they’re accurate.

I work in the graphics printing industry. I have .004” and .005” clear and .014” white mylar on hand here at work. If you ever need any for experimenting just let me know. I can supply you with a lifetime supply! Lol.

Haha! Well you’re welcome.

More windshield time on the Runted and I kinda stumbled onto something. Just putting it through its paces seeing what I could get out of it, by adding some voice (humming) and lightly lipping the reed while also allowing some air to escape around the toneboard, it kinda sounds like crow distress. Maybe young crow distress, but whatever? Pretty awesome little call! Glad I got it. I don’t have anything else like it for sure.
