Case Gauges

I have used an extra barrel to check reloaded pistol cartridges such as .40 S&W and .45 ACP but cannot do the same with bottleneck rifle cartridges (unless single shots of course). Does anyone find that the case headspace gauges such as those made by Dillon, Wilson, Lyman and others, are useful when loading bottlenecks? I think it would beat trying to chamber each round in a bolt action or even worse, a semi auto. Your thoughts...

Not the same creature at all. The one in the link is for determining OAL, so you can determine seating depth for a given bullet relative to the rifling in your barrel.

The case gauge set is something I just obtained myself and it was an eye opener to check my head spacing on a round I've had trouble dialing in.

You can also buy the cases already drilled and tapped.

I think he wanting a headspace gauge. If so I would go with the hornady and then you just have to buy the OAL gauge and the bullet comparators and your set to do headspace and OAL
