hey i've got about 50 pieces of rem .243 brass thats getting some loose primer pockets, would this tool http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?s...id=911104&t=11082005 be worth buying? obviously it costs about double what 50 .243 rem brass do, but would it pay off int the long run? really that useful and effective? thanks!

You have to decide for yourself how it would pay off. I would expect it would be more valuable to someone who had to go through an extensive case forming process to make their cases, than someone who is buying his brass in bulk for a standard caliber.
Also, it should reduce the cost of fire forming cases, since you wouldn't need to spend the money on a primer, powder and bullet to do that as often.

Your link doesn't bring up a product. I certainly wouldn't buy it for a small amount of cases. If your loading hot enough to start stretching primer pockets then you'd probably benefit from dropping your load a little. You also might want to check for incipient case head separation with hot loads.

Swadgeing primer pockets will make them larger, ifthey are loose toss them since nothing is going to help. For fifty pieces of brass it is not worth the time or money. You did not say how many times the fifty pieces had been loaded or how hot. Rem brass don't useally get loose pockets till they have been used up. Just toss them, the split necks and other problems just will not make trying to salvage them worth the time

The Hart Case Saver is not the typical primer pocket swedge that removes the military crimp. It is designed to reduce or reform the primer pocket around a mandrel. If your using expensive brass, or want to get a bit more life out of the case it can be useful if all other case specs are normal. At $37 for each (large or small primers sets) it might not take long to recoup your investment. I don't have any personal experience with this tool so I can't say how well it works.
If your seeing loose primer pockets after only a few firings you should consider backing off your load. Some lots or brands of cases are softer or thinner in cross section and may get loose pockets prematurely. Heat sensitive powders can cause a normally lower pressure load to spike up pressure in hot weather, or when alowed to cook in a hot chamber.
