case trimmer?

Y oep, truth be told I have had mine for 2 years still in the box lol. But I dont know anything bout the other trimmers I started out using lee individual hand trimmers they worked just fine for what I needed just took forever if you had too many to do at once

The Giraud is the nicest trimmer I've used, the only downside is the cost. You buy the trimmer and if you want to change calibers much you need the shell holder for each caliber as well as a different cutter for each one unless you want to adjust the blade every changeover. The adjustment can be a pain to get just where you want it to get the perfect break edges. I sold my Giraud just because I found myself doing a lot of small batches of different calibers and couldn't justify the expense of each caliber conversion.

I went back to using my RCBS Trim pro electric trimmer....it's not as accurate, fast or convenient as the Giraud but for the $$ it's a great trimmer that gets the job done.

I think there might be some confusion here between the $90 Giraud Tri-Way trimmer and the $460 Giraud power trimmer.

I am referring to the $ 460 trimmer....that is the only trimmer Giraud had when I purchased mine. Basically it operates like a pencil sharpener....the blade trims and chamfers the case all in one step.

Another vote for the Wilson trimmer. It is the best I've used and there are accessories, like inside deburring, primer pocket swaging, and inside neck turning tools that can be purchased.

If precise and accurate trimming is your goal, and speed isn't a factor, go with the Wilson. When I load for prairie dog shoots, I use the Little Crow trimmer. Fast, maybe not as precise, but the way I shoot pd's is not an exact science. I may look closer at the Giraud Tri Way trimmer, would do a lot of steps with one motion and a fraction of the cost of the power trimmer.

Yes. You could mount the trimmer on a board or table, etc, but it needs to be stable. I just bought the stand. The case holder arm, or fin holds the shellholder (and case) while you turn the handle and trim the case. It produces a nice, square cut on the case mouth. I would get both, they're worth it.

I really really like the lyman ez trim. I have used a rcbs trimmer but never could get a consistent length too much pressure the stops would drift. With the ez trim it is very consistent. I use an electric drill and can fly thru the cases. The real bonus is it is cheap compared to the rest of the trimmers.
