Cass Creek Big Horn Speaker

I'll bite. I have used it, and compared to a DIY e-caller, it's a better option in my opinion. Simple, very loud(louder than you could ever really want) and yet very crisp throughout the volume range. I made a real nice e-caller a while back that was all self contained and everything but I still prefer the Cass unit. I've used it with my ipod, and with the JS Attractor which therefore gives you wireless capabilities up to about 30 yards which is a real nice package for under $80!

Thanks for the review. How did you attach your Ipod and the Big Horn to the remote? Does it have jacks, or do you tear it appart and hard wire it?
Pictures?

Thanks.

You can't use the remote with your ipod. But the JS Attractor unit comes with a remote. The JS unit also has an audio out jack that the Cass Creek plugs right into.

When using the ipod, I just downloaded a bunch of the sounds, including the pre-made sequences, from Varmint Al's and put a minute or two of silence that allows you to set it up and have time to get back to your stand before the calls begin.

You could add a NADY wireles mic to make your Ipod and big horn wireless. But it's not cheap. Do some reading in the electronics forum searching NADY.

I saw an ad for Wing Supply today that had them. If you're in hurry you might try them.

I found one on sale for $21.99 at garners sporting goods in pendleton or. (1-541-276-7552, about three weeks ago. Seems his dist. was overstocked. As for how louad, well it reachs across the canyons here very well. DON'T try it in the house without ear plugs. blue

Works really good,I just didnt like messing with the wire.
Also had to keep my i-pod in my pocket because the battery didn't last long in the cold or maybe it was just my i-pod.
