Cass Creek Electronic Call Predator II Fox Call ?thinking of buying one of these for foxes has anyone have or seen them used .

I have a small cass creek predator call I carry in my pickup and it has never called anything, and one night at work on a large ranch outside of austin texas in a power plant a yote ran across the parking lott and I put the cotton tail on and he stop for less than 3 seconds to look and just keep going on toward a subdivision where there was lots of dogs and cats.

I have one model and have called 5 yotes and a bobcat with it. It has the Jackrabbit, cottontail, howl, pups, and fawn distress on it without a remote. I lost it so I don't know what model it was.

I tried it out one afternoon but no foxes came, but it did bring a heap of crows over /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Ill try and buy a better brand call.

I used mine as a field test to see if it could hold up to a .223. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif BTW I never called a thing in with mine.

I had one, got the external speaker to go with it. It will call in critters, but it is no where near loud enough, durable enough or functional enough to be in the game.

I bought one for predators and 1 for hogs. Ain't neither one ever called in anything. Ended up buying a johnny stewart.

You would be better of with a JS atractor, not much more money comes with a remote and has better sounds, still not loud but it will work, you can add a amplified speaker to boost the volume latter.Unit is about 35.00 and amp/speaker is about 40.00.
Bob.

The JS Attractor is a much better choice, IMHO. That said, I've hunted over both and both worked. Start your stands with a distress series on an enclosed or open reed call. Let the caller seal the deal. That method worked even when it was very windy.

In my experience the cass creek is a hunk of junk. The sounds are distorted, its not loud, and you get an amassive amount of 5 calls. You're better off buying something else. Save the $30 and go out to eat instead. Atleast that way you are getting something out of your money.

I bought one because its all i could afford. called one coyote in the first time i used it using the cottontail distress. had a little bit of trouble with the remote but changed the batteries and it works better.

kae,i am not disagreeing with you on buying the foxpro, but i had an FX3 and used it maybe 3 times.I always hunt with my partner who has the Johnny Stewart 512,many,many grays were taken with this caller and called in a bunch of cotes also.I have the 512 now and i just love it.If you have the funds though get the foxpro,it is a nice caller, money wise, they are way over priced, just my opinion.
