catfish help

I know he sold the bait company, and according to the guys I fish with, the quality isn't the same.

I bought some last month and had no complaints though.

Dannys brother Lewis also makes bait. One of the brothers I fish with bought 2 cases of Lewis's bait for his farm store. He has tried a gallon, but is not enthused about it.

I bought a gallon of Sure Shot punch bait from Benny Roberts last year, and have been satisfied with its performance.

Danny Kings scores again.
We limited out pretty quick yesterday using Danny Kings.
The river was hot and low, but they bit fairly well.
Water temp was 83 degrees.

chicken liver and a 1/0 w/ a very careful cast, and confirmation that bait was on hook when it hit the water, for the lil' guys....

If you would try some Danny Kings W/blood, I guarantee you will get more bites faster than with chicken liver.

Just use a smaller hook than recomended. If your fish are a 1 lb average, use a #8 treble. If a 2 to 3 lb average, a #6 treble will work, even for larger fish.

I use cut up chicken breast I have coated with strawberry Koolaid. Yes it works.
Big gold fish.
Chicken livers.
Shad.
Bluegill heads.

I like to fish for the big channels in May when the bluegill are on the beds.

I nose hook live bluegill and suspend them off the bottom under a balloon with a glowstick inside it.

The big channels come up at dark cruising the beds. It makes for some real fun.

Here's a bait that was mauled.

Those are some nice fish Crazy Horse.

Do the Channel Cats where you're at have the strip of yellow meat down the back?

Ours do, pond and river fish, it makes no difference.

Thanks!

I always thought that yellow meat was fat deposits. It seems to sour the meat so I cut it all out.
On a bigger fish, it seems to be a lot of waste.

I'm not sure what the yellow is, but I agree, it is nasty.

Channel cats are the only catfish I've ever seen it on.
Not a bit on Whites, Blues, or Flatheads.
