Been hearing rumors that there are some big black cats being spotted. Had a guy tell me the other day that one horse was killed and another one has claw marks on it's back and big puncture wounds in it's neck. I have heard alot of people say that they are seeing things that they say are not dogs. One was even by my house, yet I have yet to see any sign. There has always been reports of sightings in the past but not like this year. One guy said that they found the remains of a deer in a tree. I won't believe it untill I see some proof. Has anyone been hearing any of these reports?
 
Large black cats... deer remains in a tree... Oh boy, not again. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smiliesmack.gif Run a search for "black panther" and you won't have to beat this dead horse again.
 
For years in Fulton county there have been rumors of panthers around. I sure would like to get my crosshairs on one, but I sure wouldn't like to get attacked in the dark heading out through the woods to a stand
 
In 2003 (If I remember correctly) there was a mountain lion hit by a train just about 2 miles down the road from my house here in Randolph County, Illinois. The picture of the cat was in all the local papers and was big talk for quite a while.

I have heard of several more sightings of lions in my area since then.

They are here, but they aren't black.

And, the armadillos are coming up here too... my dog caught one in the yard back in August.
 
Its all BULL people are seeing big bobcats and they have never seen one before. As for the one that got hit over by chester by the train it fell off a circus train.
 
The cat I saw and police officers in lynwood Il. saw was a large brown cat with a long tail. I would say the body was the size of a large dog. I saw it grabbed my .300 win mag out of the my case and it was gone. I saw it about 2 years ago and just talked to a lynwood police officer who said he saw it over the summer. These sighting have been in the paper.
 
The girl who cuts my hair has a horse, and where she used to live, she had it pastured, and when she was brushing it's back, she could feel what she thought were burrs. However, when she got a stool to look at the horse's back she noticed claw marks on it's back (more like the hips). When she and her boyfriend started to look around the pasture, they found tracks. She showed me pictures taken with her cell phone, and her small hand was about as long as the track. Also, about the same time, within a couple weeks, a former biology teacher of mine and his wife saw one laying in the sun beside their neighbor's house as they were looking out their kitchen window.

I believe that they are here, and I would love to see one while calling yotes. I would shoot it, just to stop all the rumors if nothing else.

Had a guy called me last year about his ostrich was being killed by a large cat couger. Stan and I went and found a very big Bobcat over 40lbs near his fence. Well IDNR found some broken teeth in the last bird that was killed in its back. This bobcat had broken teeth. These cats will tackle about anything and they have no fear. To them its just food. and Bobcats do have a tail its longer then most people think.
