CCW laws?

I was reading in an NRA mag about the armed citizen. A masked bandit came into a bank wielding a pistol. The teller of the bank had a CCW, drew his pistol and shot the robber. I thought it was illegal to carry in a bank. Teller or not. Help me out here.
 
We have a local bank that has a 'Welcome Concealed Carry' sign on the front door....One day an armed robbery subject tried to pull one off there and the manager chased him out and held him at gun point on the parking lot....

State laws likely vary. Most free states (I will call Oklahoma a free state) it is up to the bank (or any private property owner) to set the policy of whether they allow ccw or not. I'm working in Stephenville, Texas for the next month. The locals said the fastest way to shut a business down is for the owner to post it as a no CCW place. People won't go to it.

I saw a sign on a bank door in Oklahoma just a couple of weeks ago that said no open carry. That tells me it's not illegal to carry concealed and the bank doesn't care if you do. They just don't want people getting jumpy over an open carry weapon.
 
In Wisconsin it is up to the business, but if the business has a sign restricting it they can be held liable if someone gets injured or killed by an attacker. I have not seen any banks restricting conceal carry. That would be crazy stupid if a bank did. When conceal carry was first implemented in WI one of my post office's had a sign up on the main enterence. Then the next time I went it was moved to the door to the service counter only so you could still access the PO boxes. The other Post office had no sign as there is no seperate enterance to the service counter and PO boxes. Very few business have signs restricting it and the only chain business I've seen with one is Apple B's.

I remember that one. There was another not too long ago up North of KC too I believe. Dam dangerous for criminals around here!

Post office is federal property no weapons permitted anywhere.
