Hey, here's an idea...instead of that stupid message, how about allowing & suggesting concealed carry?

Central Florida theaters issue alert on safety measures
AMC Theatres play message on reporting suspicious characters

ORLANDO, Fla. A message about safety is now being played at the AMC Theatres. It states, "If you happen to see any suspiciously strange characters or bad agendas, report them to our crew."

It's a message that has moviegoers talking. "It's a good message to send because there has been a lot of problems with movie theater shootings and stuff," said Brittany Cavallo.

Most recently, the shooting at a movie theater in Louisiana last Thursday that killed two people and injured nine others. Now, AMC Theatres has created a video message alerting moviegoers to look out for suspicious people or bad agendas and report it immediately.

"I think AMC is doing an awesome job because we should be protecting our people when they come and they should be feeling safe," said Regina Law.

But not everyone thinks it'll work. Lenore Mchugh said her friend was just at the movies and saw a suspicious man but couldn't do anything about it.

"She was afraid to leave because he was right on top of her, so they ran out of the theater. So in that case, what do you do?" said Mchugh.

However, moviegoers said if this short film is the first step to keeping people safe, they're all on board.

"I think it's good to make people aware because some people just go in the theater, sit down and they are not aware of what's going on around them because they're just looking forward," said Mchugh.

Local 6 called AMC Theatres to find out why they created the message and for how long it's been running. Local 6 also called Cinemark and Regal to see if they've followed suit, but no one has returned our calls.

Of course they do, you dolt. They aren't there to keep track of their neighbors or other people. They just want to watch a movie and hopefully be entertained.

I can see this leading to a lot of trouble for theater goers just because of the way they look or the way they look at someone else in the theater.

on the rare occasion that we go out to a movie, not carrying a gun isn't even an option. I have no idea if any theaters around here do or do not have any signs, as I just ignore the damned things.

carrying concealed on property with such a sign is perfectly legal in alabamistan.

Well,
If you notice someone suspicious, it's TOO LATE STUPID...

Have these people been to a theatre lately?

Half the kids in there look like they are suspicious, or just loud and annoying. THey are rude and cause issues all the time. I see Adults in the theatres that make you wonder too.. It's not rare..

I think they have 2 options. advocate for conceal carry, or put up metal detectors, or wand everyone coming in, and then put people at the doors to control access.
If they want to make the place safer, (not safe) then that really is the choice.

I have started going to an Ipic instead of the Harkins and other low dollar places. I figure that someone going to loose their cork isn't going to pay $25 a ticket for a seat. Wishful thinking i bet, but i do like how they bring me beer to my seat, and refil my popcorn without me getting up. Oh and the seats are better than home.

If someone was smart they would have a bring your guns to the movie night. I would go to that. And I've been to exactly 1 movie in the past 12 years. AMERICAN sniper. They would have a full house I bet. Like when a gun range bans Muslims, and her business quadrupled.

yes... it's true,, but this is something different than most of you have seen..

It's not a regular movie theatre which is about $10 now, but it's more of a resteraunt and bar.
You go online and reserve your seat. Then when you show up it's really nice and have a drink in the bar, or eat in the rest. Then you go in and sit down and if you want something, you can order dinner or bar food, and drinks. They bring everything to your leather reclining seat that has a blanket for the wife. It's a serious lazy boy seat and they bring me Beer. They include the Popcorn, and soda refils.. It's very nice and you don't feel like some fat dude is creaping over the seat next to you onto you when you are there.

It's over the top, but its nice for a date night out with the wife. Ocassionally.
