Chargemaster Supreme, any tips/tricks?

I ran one of the old original Chargemasters for years. Loaded tens of thousands of rounds on it. Was a good machine, worked great for me. But it finally died on me. Of course they do not make that one any more and I had to replace it with a Supreme.

On those original Chargemasters there were a few tricks. I know I reprogrammed mine, and I also had an aluminum insert I put in the dispense tube from some guy on one of the forums. The insert helped it a lot.

So, on the newer Supremes, are there any tips and tricks like that I need to do, or just run it as is right out of the box?

I haven't found any tricks necessary on my new Supreme. Just program (Learn) it for your powder. It will be very fast with similar types of powder, example I programmed mine for Varget but it throws 8208 XBR just fine also without re-learning.

Ok, sounds like no special tricks then. Just use the learn feature and roll with it. I always let it warm up for 30 minutes before I load, and cal it first.

I have 2 of the older charge masters. One my dad bought for me for my Bday back in 2014. The other one he left me when he passed.

I dread the day they are both dead. Those new ones are danged expensive.

I presume they are somewhat superior in function though?

The new Supreme is definately faster, and in "learning mode" it automatically optimizes itself for whatever powder you're using. Every now and then a demon gets inside it and it overthrows. That seems to be caused by very low powder level in the hopper. It seems to measure very well despite the display only showing tenths. I have been getting single digit SDs with quality components Lapua/Berger etc.
