Anyone here know anything about the Charles Daly "Superior Combination"? I think they are good looking guns.

Never really thought about it before reading the "over & under 12&223" thread, but I kind of like the idea of a rifle shotgun combination as a calling rifle.

I have never shot one, but after looking at this model, my first thought is I would not personaly want one because the rifle barrel is on the bottom. I'm no exper but I would think that the closer the scope is to the barrel the better. Just my thought. Look around I have seen other models that I can not recall off hand that have the rifle on top and the shotgun on the bottom. On the other hand you probably can't beat the price on the CD. Joey

I've read a lot of the negative post on this board as wall; however, all seemed to be related to their semi-auto shotguns. Haven't seen anything positive or negative about their breach loaders.

T/C doesn't offer a combo rifle/shotgun set up do they? I've never seen one.

I do not know of any T/C offering that has the mixed barrel setup.

On the Charles Daly deal, many folks may buy their Superior Combination and do just great with it. It might be the best thing since sliced bread, I don't know. I just know that I have no desire to write out a check for anything they make.

If you are interested in that weapon, I would sure check to see what metal the receiver is made out of. If it's a high quality steel, it may be a fairly solid outfit...don't know.

I don't think that CD actually produces a thing, I believe that they are just resellers of products produced by others, but with their name stamped on it. Some better than others, admittedly. Correct me if I'm wrong here. I'd wanna see who was making them, and hear someone else's experiences first. Look at the Russian Baikal's, not pretty, but apparently effective, and at a cheap price,. And Remington just tool away the Zastava line from Daly, must've been thougth to be worth it. We'll see.

Well, isn't that a heck of a note! I was thinking their combo was a really good looking gun. I didn't see in the anything in the newsletter that indicated that they would be offering the combo's in the future so I sent them an email asking about it. Assuming I get I get a response, I'll post it here.

Well, knowing the company, you will get a response quickly. I have had a Charles Daly 12 ga pump for a few years. All in all, it is a very good gun for me. It not only fits me well, it has held up very well. I really didn't expect much for a sub 300 buck shotgun, but I am pretty happy with it.

The dealings I have had with the company have been very good. Quick responses to E mails on a couple of questions I had on the gun and they actually answer the telephone in person - or they did.
