Check out what UPS did to my Mark V !!!!!

I'm in tears at the moment, but I wanted to share with everyone what big brown did to my new Mark V. It looks as if they ran over it with one of their 747's!!!! and yes the shipper packed the gun appropriatley.

A claim has been filed but I'm getting the impression that all UPS is probably going to do is replace the stock, which I feel is totally un-accpetable. I nor they have any idea the intensity or amount of force the gun was subjected to during the time in which it was broken in two. Even if a smith checks it out and clears it, I feel the gun may be possibly tweaked enough to cause not only accuracy issues, but more importantly a hidden safety issue. Am I off base here and being un-reasonable in expecting UPS to buy me a brand new gun? I paid too much darn money for this gun to have it end up like this.

What would you guy's expect UPS to do?

Ouch! Yeah, I would probably try and get the entire gun replaced myself. Not sure what happened to that package, but no parcel should be treated like that. Wonder what really happened to it. Tears indeed...

That is enough to make a grown man cry. If you had enough insurance on it, i would expect them to replace the whole gun. If not, it's a really expensive lesson to learn about insurance. Either way, i'd be very upset with UPS.

I would ask for the insured ammount. But in a case of an heirloom type rifle often it wont be enough. Fight them... Good luck... and passing the Kleenex.. what a Bummer!

They have always tried to blame it on the packaging and if it does not meet THERE STANDARDS for packaging you are screwedddd, it dont matter how much insurance you have... it has happened to me a few times and the battles are NOT over yet... I do fill for ya though! that was a Nice one...

Wow just imagine if that was a synthetic stock you might of never known the extent of the abuse there realy was.Hope it works out ok.

Man, that's an ugly thing to look at. I feel for ya.

I can honestly say the only thing I've ever had damaged in transit was was being carried by UPS. I won't ever use UPS again.

Good luck with your rifle. They had a ton of excuses why they wouldn't give me anything for damages. Hopefully you'll come out better.

Ouch. That hurts. If they try to fight you on the full amt. of the insurance, I would definitely be forced to get medieval on somebody's azz........

Man, I'm in tears and it's not even mine. Make them replace it, but don't let them take the broken one, with a new stock it may be serviceable.

Don't let up on them, be sure and call EVERY day until you are dealt with.

Man that bites. I am mad and it ain't even my gun. It doesn't cost anything to get the better business bureau involved either. Sometimes when you mention the BBB things can turn in your favor in a hurry. Can't hurt to try.

Yikes..!! That sucks big time...

I would hold out for an entirely new rifle. Good luck.

I'm having a bit of tiff with them also. I bought a 1.625" coated steel pipe car top carrior for my Wrangler that arrived damaged with bent poles. The carrier is designed to hold 500 pounds.

Maybe your rifle met my carrier in transit. I can't image how they can do some of the stuff they do.

Fortunately the vendor where I bought the carrier is getting it replaced and it looks like UPS will be the proud owner of a bent car top carrier...

I hope they step up for ya'.... There is no excuse for that kind of damage...

Thats bull right there!

You go after them for a new gun and if they balk, just remind them of the videos out there of THEIR EMPLOYEES kicking around packages and treating other peoples stuff like crap!

Maybe that will take the wind outta their sails.

I hate UPS with a black heart.

Legally and realistically I would not expect more than a new stock unless you can document further damage.
Insurance only pays for actual damage not a new replacement for the asking.
