has anyone used the kicks howler or the black diamond assualt .trying to decide its for an sx3 with the ivector +.I know both are great companies .i looked in the shotgun pattern sticky but only seen one with the kicks high flyer .

Kick's, Indian Creek, and Pure Gold are excellent. If you can find a JellyHead choke for your particular gun it isn't bad at all for the money.

I was lucky with the kicks howler choke in my mossberg 500 shooting hevi shot 3"-dead coyote it patterend vary well.

Its something your going to have to expirement with and see what choke & ammo combo that patterens for your particular shotgun.

red squirrel not sure where your located in northern michigan.but from what i hear there is a ton of coyotes up north . & now wolfes .does pure gold make a coyote choke ? I tried the dead coyote in my benelli nova it was a big waste of money it blew the center completly out .Iam just wondered what results people have had with the other chokes .from what ive gathered & please correct me if iam wrong but it seem the one with over less constrictions for tighter patterns.

madarcher,

There are no coyotes up north here

.

Im not sure about pure gold chokes.

I think the kicks ind howler is a .700 constriction(thinking Im saying that right).
And yes it seems less constriction shoot a better pattern with the hevi shot dead coyote.

Take me with a grain of salt I am no expert
I learn by trial & error.

Great company service is very important. I recently called Carlsons with regards to which choke tube they would recommend for good patterns out to 40 and 50 yards, while hunting coyotes.

I told them about the patterns that I was getting with Dead Coyote (Ts) and Remington HD in BBs, while using their DC choke tube. My patterns were good, but the pellet count wasn't as good as I thought it should be, at 40 and 50 yards. They agreed that my pellet count was lower than average and suggested that I return the choke tube for an exchange.

Scott and Shane Carlson suggested I return the DC choke tube with a note stating, "Please replace with a .680" constriction." All I have to do is put it in a padded envelope with the note inside and drop it in the mail. (Ofcourse, I'm paying the shipping.) It was suggested that my pellet count would increase with a .020" less constriction.

This kind of service isn't as common as it should be, but it's a standard with Carlsons.

I recommend calling the choke tube company of your choice and telling them what you want to do with the ammo you intend to use and what kind of patterns you'd like to attain. This will save you a lot of money experimenting with chokes and ammo.

Good hunting, Bowhunter57

Bowhunter, that is good of them to do that. Though it kinda makes you wonder if they know the .680" will pattern better why the offer a .660" for the Dead Coyote load in the first place? I dunno... anyway good they are going to make it right and keep you happy. Let us know how the .680" patterns for you.

Madarcher,
You won't regret the Kick's choke. Kick's has always done that return thing and will do whatever it takes to make you happy. I've used their chokes a long time with perfect satisfaction. Indian Creek and Pure Gold have excellent products and customer service also.
