???Choosing NV manufacturer???

I've been looking into thermal vs Gen 3P NV for some time and am leaning in the direction of NV for positive ID. Specifically I'm looking for Gen 3P in white phosphor but there are so many manufacturers.
I heard from one supplier that Night Optics had been bought by another company and don't know if that's true or if it is even an issue.
So my main question is this.
There are units made by Armasight, ATN, NightOptics, Bering Optics, etc. How does one choose which manufacturer to buy from? I hear a lot of poo pooing about ATN but is there that much of a difference between manufacturers?
Thanks!

Length of warranty and customer service is definitely something to consider when making a substantial purchase like NV.

The NV market is more mature and stable. Gen III green or white, your choice is and has been king of the hill. The thermal arena is more in a state of flux, both the technology and the players. I've been sitting on the sidelines for that reason. although I do have a FLIR LS64 for scanning.

ATN uses the money they save on customer service to innovate and challenge the industry. Armasight has a spotty customer service record, and is now in bed with FLIR. Pulsar has been pretty solid-a good balance of product and customer service. Trijicon and IR Defense are now hooked up.

For me, it's simple. If I were buying thermal today, there are only two choices. Pulsar for the low/mid price range, and Trijicon if you need/want/and can afford the best.

I rented before I bought. And will recommend you do the same, I ended up with IR defense (Trijicon) gear and am very happy with my investment.

Having personally been involved with ATN's lack of customer service I would recommend you steer clear of that outfit.
