Thinking about buying one,but don't have a clue on brand or model to purchase. What do the pro's here use or recommend?

Thanks...

I have owned two Shooting Chronys and was satisfied with both, but I would buy a ProChrono if buying today. My friend bought the ProChrono and we set them up side by side. We shot groups through both and compared the results. There was no statistical difference between the two, but the ProChrono sensors were more consistent. I have always had problems getting consistent readings with my Shooty Chrony in bright light.

What he said. I shot my Shooting Chrony, square in the face
with a 380 pocket pistol, pushing SD loads to max. And mine
always struggled with consistent readings. So I tried the
ProChrono this time, as a replacement, and I REALLY like it.
Rarely does it miss a measurement. When I shoot this
one(notice "when" not "if"

) I will buy another
ProChrono.

I've found that in Chrony's, (probably all chromos) having a fresh battery is very important. If my Chrony sits more than 2 months ...It gets a new battery before using. Another important fact... No chronograph is bulletproof! Don't ask.

I have a pro chrony, dont know the model off hand but was $100. My only compaint is having to walk up to it to change strings. At my range it can take me 4 hours to shoot 20 rds if I have to wait for other shooters to be ready to walk down range and i get annoyed or I have to hold up the shooting every 10 min and the other shooters get annoyed.

When this one goes bad or I shoot it I will be looking at something like the rcbs unit that has the removeable display so i can switch strings from the bench. They run $130 locally so it may be worth the extra $.

That is one of the main reasons I would like to get a Magneto Speed, range etiquette is severely lacking on most public ranges I've been to and even our private gunclub anymore

My ProChrono is over 10 years old and it seems to do fine as others mentioned. I will be getting a MagnetoSpeed at some point i would imagine. I have borrowed one for testing and it worked quite well. We shot across a Oehler at the same time and speeds were very close occasionally within 1-2 fps

Super chrono looks awesome too, but I have no experience with them. If I didn't have two chrono's already I would try one. Triad tactical has them in stock.

I like my Prochrony but I recently tried the Magneto Speed and think it's absolutely the best unit I used but it's 3x the cost. I have a Pact Pro and it never has worked right, even after sending it back and forth a few times! Their customer service sucks!!!

The ONLY downside is the initial cost. I've had a couple Chronies
and the ProChrono. Always looked upon them as a pain to get set
up correctly, getting people to wait for the setup on the firing
line, lighting problems, yadda, yadda, yadda. Then there is the
occasional murder by bullet of a chronograph.

There are no such worries with the MagnetoSpeed. Just slip the
bayonet on the end of the barrel, hook it up to the little
monitor, and start shooting. Life with it is very good!
