Cinco de Mayo

Denjahn,
Spoken like a true minnesotan! The real question is"What came first, lefsa or the tortilla?"

Lefse kicks butt over tortillas any day. Tortillas are just a flat lefse wannabee /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

That's true about St. Pat's day. It never exsisted in Ireland until after it was invented over here first by an American of Irish decent. It was kind of an Irish heritage pride day, starting in New York or Boston, if I recall correctly. Nowadays, St. Patrick's Day and December 5 seem to have a great deal in common. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Cinco de Mayo? BBQ and Rabbut hunt, Like my Easter rabbit hunt and BBQ, and mY July 4th Varment hunt and BBQ, too hot for rabbit in July. If I get a hankering for Mex food I cook it myself, bad thing is you cannot cook mex on a BBQ the beans fall through the grill.

NASA-

We have a Mexican restaurant here in town that is a front for illegals passing through. One of my best friends is the county's chief investigator and he told me he knows that they're illegal, but 1) if INS doesn't care if they're here, he doesn't either, and 2) they make really good Mex food. Told me he's found no less than six different mom'n'pop mexican restaurants in the state, each with a different name, that use the exact same menu. And the employees all have different faces everytime he goes in them. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

As far as Cinco de Mayo symbolizing Mexico's liberation from and whooping of France, I guess that means everyone has a Cinco de Mayo in one form or another!!! Hell, they even caved into the "mediocre" last month when they reversed their actions to make it legal to terminate useless employees within two years of hiring. Then again, that may have been a union project. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Lance, I have taken a pretty strong position here on the board when it comes to illegal aliens. But I'd like to make something clear. I don't hate mexicans or Americans of mexican ancestry.

What I do disapprove of is lawbreakers and anyone who condones, advocates or supports them. Any kind of lawbreaker, and especially those who break the law in order to displace me from my lifestyle, my earned benefits, and my homeland. Those are MY civil rights and I will fight anyone to defend them.

AMEN NASA!

Consider this; An estimated 30 million Mexicans are here illegally. Now they demand that we make them legal.

Can any country last that caves into such demands?

I think not.
