Cleaning of Ruger M77 Bolt

What is the recommended protocol to clean a Ruger bolt? Strip and clean or soak and blow out?

Whichever, please share the products you use and the lube you recommend for reassembly.

Thanks in advance.

Spray down with brake cleaner & wipe. No reason to take it apart unless its been dropped in mucky mud or sand.

I agree with 5SPD, soak it, or use a pressure solvent, pipe cleaner and GP brush, then if need blow it out- but be warned unless your compressor has a moisture collector- you may want to oil it afterwards.

I can be pretty adventurous with taking firearms apart for cleaning when called for. Though I do try to avoid trips to the smith for reassembly. I use the 'gun scrubber' in the pressurized can when trying to clean up an something that I don't want to risk taking apart. After the cleaning I do some light lube as required.
