Cleaning primer pockets?????

Anyone out there have a way to "chemically" clean primer pockets???? Maybe I should say "easily", what I mean is not touching the primer pocket with any manual means to clean out the carbon. I want to spray something on the case or dump it in some type of chemical, rinse out the crud, dry the case and go. I dont mind swaging the military crimps or twisting away the outside necks or trimming and deburring but for some reason cleaning primer pockets is just depressing. And not entirely benign to the case. Thanks in advance for reading this.

I have been looking for over 40 years and haven't found anything that won't damage the brass.

There are lots of "metal cleaners" most have to be in a hot tank, some work at room temperature. They are designed to clean engine blocks, heads, etc. and are not friendly to brass.

Sand blasting using glass beads is not too damaging, but a lot of work.

I use the carbide primer pocket uniforming tool every time I reload. It only takes a couple seconds per case, and removes all that needs to be removed. I chuck it in the drill press, seems easier and faster than any hand held screwdriver or whatever.

Ditto to Jack. Just wondering how much of an accuracy freak you were? I fired cases, with as many as five reloadings, with out a single touch up, and with out a single miss fire. To be honest, did not really notice much of an accuracy change either. I know some folks who do not go through the case prep I do, and get great results.

The only reasonably easy way I've found to do it is by using my RCBS Trim Mate. I chamfer the inside and outside of my cases anyway so it's not a big deal to clean the primer pocket at the same time. It takes maybe 2-3 seconds per case.

Does anyone have a better solution?

I was in charge of keeping a bright dip operation charged with the right ammount of chemicals. Used to bright dip brass faucett fixtures.
20% sulphuric and 80% water in one tank. Heat to 140F and dip and slosh for 2 minutes. Rinse in water. The second dip was 20% sulphuric and 40% lazer-B and 40% water. After 2 minutes in the second dip, rinse with water and seal. THere are some good sealants available at many hardware stores. Small ammounts are safe to do in your garage but wear gloves and keep a lid on the buckets when not in use. Or try the lymans case cleaning media LOL jerryboy

I use the Lee primer pocket cleaning tool. And yes, I too hate doing it. But what the heck, I hate going to work too. It's just one of those things you gotta do
