CMMG AR-15 .22 LR Conversion Kit

I have the R-15 in 204 ruger. I was wondering if this kit will work in this gun. The kit says any 223 AR but mine is 204. There pretty much the same bolts. Will this work in the gun?

yes, it should work fine. They say any .223 because that's the most common round chambered by the AR15. IIRC, it comes with it's own blowback type bolt, conversion mag or two, and the upper (it's not gas operated).

Uhhhh, NO!!

Wrong caliber! A 22 bullet will not fit down a 204 pipe! Get a $275 DSA upper, use your charging handle and the conversion kit will work fine. Swap your bolt to the M-4 and you now have a 223 also!! Aint the AR a fun rifle?

ahhhh ok, I see now, you were asking about the simple bolt swap and not a full upper conversion. yeah, a bolt swap conversion would be bad ju-ju!

Yeah would need a new upper and since you would have to, consider a Spikes or Tactical Solutions. They both make dedicated 22lr uppers

A dedicated 22LR upper will give you better accuracy. Any 223 upper and a conversion kit will work but the twist in the barrel is usually not matched up

I went and bought one last week "CMMG AR-15 .22 LR Conversion Kit".
It is great looking, looks like stainless steel. I would not fire the second round.
Sent an email to CMMG got one right back. Send pictures of my AR's hammer.
Got an email back it was "NO" to that hammer. I changed lowers.
Works so good I wish I had bought it sooner. A nice group at CMMG.
