Cocus Wood

Here is a call I finished up just before Christmas. This one was ordered as a Christmas gift to a local hunter.

It was my first time using Cocus Wood and I do think I will be turning more of it. It seemed very hard, sanded up silky smooth, and took my finish well. The sapwood was a nice bonus.

The tone board is a Carver Rabid Rabbit.

Nice looking call. The only place I have ever seen cocus wood for sale was at Gilmer Wood. Kind of looks like some Macasser ebony I have. Dale
