I need to give a plug for my friend Mike. He's a small batch roaster out of Montrose, Colorado. His coffee is awesome! He comes over from Colorado to do trail runs with us at least a couple times a year. He was on the ghost town tour I led this past weekend and has made it to every one for many years now.
But his coffee is awesome! And I can't tell what a treat it is, to wake up in camp, grab my cup, wander over to where Mike is camped with an empty cup and pleading eyes and get a fresh brewed cup of his finest. And then come back for another.
His website is undergoing a refresh, but you can still see some of his blends here:
Deep Canyon Coffee.
And not for nothing, but his dog, Jack, is my bud for life. He's the kind of dog that is not unfriendly to anyone, but doesn't really like to be petted or bothered and so mostly shy's away from people trying to get his attention. But he gets as excited to see me as my own dogs do after I've been away a few days. Here is Jack and I enjoying an inch thick ribeye a few evenings ago.
