cold days mean hot hunting.

The weird part is I actually enjoy hunting in the cold. It must be my inner Canadian showing through.
The only thing that can make cold calm hunting days any better is a big layer of hoar frost on everything

Great hunts and stories. Nebraska isn't Canada, but our weather lately has been all subfreezing, with most of it subzero. Seeing a lot of critters here, too... but most of them at night, when it's really cold. I can tolerate it, but batteries don't last long. I have to keep them in a small, softside six-pack cooler with a couple of handwarmers in there. At about -28*F the time on stands has to be short, and then back to the truck, fire up the heater and warm everything up before moving to the next one.

Great pics. My cheap camera stops working at about 5*F so I've been leaving it at home. Better find me a better one that doesn't mind the cold so much.

Your coyotes are quite a bit fluffier and prettier than most of ours.

i just straight gave up on electronics in that cold of weather. as for camera i took all of these with my phone which i keep tucked in close to my body under the layers while on stand.
as for the coyotes being fluffy this stand was extremely lucky as all of them were in fantastic condition. lately this area has been hit with a bad case of dog lice so sadly not all of them look like that.
