Cold weather gloves

What is every one using for gloves in cold weather, for some of you cool weather. Less than 20F. Hunt brush and do not have alot of time to remove heavy gloves. Are the mittens with ends that open warn and fast enough for what I want? If you have a link to what might work that would be great.

Thanks
Dave

I use mid weight gloves, but make sure to pop one of the hot hands heat pack thingies in a pocket and fondle it often

I have always liked the wool mitten/fingerless gloves for hunting. They are warm, and allow you to open to fingers for dexterity etc. I usually carry an extra pair and have the ability to rotate to a dry pair if needed.

I wear under armour cold gear liners (with silver thread sewn into the finger tips for using my iPhone) under a pair of under armour glommitts. I keep hand warmers in the pouch on the back of the glommitts on really cold days.

If I am deer hunting and will be static for a while, I use a muff. I keep one on my pack most of the year.

EDIT:

Here are the liners I use:

Pretty sure this is the same pair of glommits I use:

Sorry....the perfect glove does not exist.

The white camo gloves are not warm enough....heavy winter gloves don't allow you to feel the trigger, and most gloves are either BLACK, or fancy colors that no hunter would want. PLUS, many gloves are Noisy.

Well, that is what I've found....

oh yea, and its almost impossible to get the sound your use to getting with hand calls while wearing gloves.

ALTHOUGH---I'd like to try these, or talk to somebody who Has!

Although, this glove has too much black, should have fleece on the back to wipe your nose (yes-I wipe my nose A LOT on my gloves-I don't 'sniff' while on stand!). Should be offered in white camo, of some sort....

They make boots with a heat/cold rating...WHY CAN'T THEY DO THE SAME WITH GLOVES???

I agree with you...they haven't been invented yet. Ski gloves are too brightly colored and bulky. Closest I found were some waterfowl decoy gloves I just got that seem pretty warm but the true test comes next week elk hunting.
Up to now I wear Cabelas big game mitts when its really cold but you still have to get your fingers out to shoot.

These are what I wear most of the time. They do have handwarmer pocket on back of hand. For when it really gets cold out and I plan to sit on stand for awhile I have a pair of Cabelas stand hunter ii mittens. They have a glove liner that has data tips on fingers and more importantly has zipper along index side where you can pop trigger finger out. These are big and bulky though. I have bad finger circulation on left hand so I'll put the left mitten on and wear the glove I linked above on my right(shooting) hand. And muffs always rock! Deer hunting I always have a muff with hand warmers in it.

The only glove that meets all of my requirements is no longer being made. Actually the company is no longer in business. Berlin Glove Co. used to make a suede deerskin lined glove that is and has been perfect in all kinds of weather. Never even have to take them off to shoot and they stay pliable wet or after drying. 40 above to 40 below, never had my hands get very cold at all.
Thankfully I bought 3 pairs about 30yrs. ago and still have 2 pair left. I only use them for hunting now.

i was in gander mtn and they had some 300 gram i beleive they where the gander mtn gsx brand gloves... the warmest i have found before that was 100 and i have those, they are warm, my hands never get cold even when riding the four wheeler on snowy january days. most of your walmart heavy weiht gloves are 40 gram

Best I've found are Ice Armor gloves at gander mountain (the wrist length ones) Yes there black but has not seemed to matter they seem to be best if you buy them tight for exampele I usualy buy a small (they strech a bit over time)but this fall when I went to get a pair they only had large no where near as warm...another tip is get some of those sticky toe warmers and stick one to each palm eather on your hand or the glove that works for me when it super cold

Quote:....heavy winter gloves don't allow you to feel the trigger... Take them off to shoot. I wear heavy gloves or mittens with hand warmers inside. Sometimes I'll wear Merino wool glove liners. Doesn't take long to peel them off to shoot. FWIW, I have worn all black gloves numerous times. With all of the rocks, brush, etc., I doubt the coyote even noticed.

I wear mittens that zip open. I also wear gloves under the mittens with a hole cut where my trigger finger is free. I leave my mitten unzipped on my right hand so I can easily shoot when I need too.

cabelas heated gloves. i wish yuou could get white but the realtree ap will have to do. I hunt up to -25 degrees Celsius. the battery power allows me to be heated as if i was wearing a big thick snow mobiling mitt.

Sounds like we all are looking for the same thing, just nobody has really come out with it, we are all making do.

Although, since we all live in different parts of the country, not all of us need snow camo.....but quite a few of us could use it!

I know Mazella makes a heavier insulated glove-mitt.....which wouldn't be bad, better if we could get it in snow camo of some sort...not into the "stix & strings" camos, but they do work to break up outlines.

I do have a couple of pairs of the military wool-lined mittens, but they are horrible to get off quickly, and you deffinatly can't feel a trigger (kinda a surprise to me, being a MILITARY-cold weather glove!).They DO have the wool on the back side for nose whipping...a big plus!

I suppose an ugly glove like that just wouldn't appeal to the preppy yote hunting boys out there...hehehe, so-no luck for the rest of us!

I've tried a pair of these....they are not very warm (notice where I live!), and I tore a finger off trying to get them off my hands....not a big plus in a hunting glove if you ask me.

T.Dow how are these gloves when there is wind blowing? I've had wool gloves that were good when it was still but freezing in wind.
