I bought 2 Coleman Max flashlights the other day at Walmart. One takes 2AA's and the other 3AAA's. They are great lights. The box claims 115 lumen. They are definitely brighter than my surefire 6P.
I went back today and bought a 135 lumen light that takes 4 AA's. It is just as good. The only thing I don't like is that it is plastic. The 115s are aluminum. Other than that it puts out a impressive amount of light. You could easily see a coyote in a scope at 150 yrd's.
All lights cost $25 and come with batteries.

Sparky.

If your talking about the one that comes with the red, blue and amber screw on filters, they are great little lights.
Its what I use on my shotgun. They fit a 30mm scope ring perfect. Take a long weaver style base, attach it to bottom of shotgun barrel with double sided tape, secure with zip ties. Works great!

I also use these for walking to deer stands etc. I can also attest it's the brightest little flashlight I've used. I may even buy a few more for back up when they do discontinue them.

I have the 2 AA model.

I got a bayonet lug mount, put the light in a 1" Weaver QD ring, and just put it on my M-4 when hunting. It's bright! I can see & ID an animal out past 100 yards, plus being on the bayonet lug, it shines where I'm aiming.

Had it a bit over a year, and love it.

Are you shinning animals with no filter (just white light) or do you have a red filter on the front. If you are not using a filter are animals spooked when hit with the light?

If my shots average less then 100 yards, in your opinion could this light be used for scanning and shooting?

Thanks for the help,
GW

I used That one(and still do) on my original shotgun rig. Now I use one from Home Depot that is like 160 lumen(or somewhere around there)on my new rig. I think I got it for $40.

I have the 115 lumen aluminum model and the white light is nice and bright. I threw away my packaging but recall it said something like "Red 5 watt" or something suggesting a reduced output with the red lens. Is the red lens adequate for nighttime scanning for coyote? Does Coleman reduce the power when using the red lens?
